Winter Conference 24
I grew up in a church that taught me to train my mind to know true things about God. InterVarsity over the decades has been known for “discipleship of the mind.” I’m thankful for the hundreds of verses I memorized growing up in my church and for the ways InterVarsity helped me think well about living faithfully in the world. In recent years I have realized that sometimes those good things don’t automatically move me to things like loving my neighbor, being kind, and living in harmony with one another. Funny thing is that much of what is in my head instructs me to do those things. How come good theology doesn’t always move me to action? And if it doesn’t move me to action is it good theology?
The Apostle Paul offers a beautiful prayer for the believers in Ephesus (Ephesians 3:14-21) in which the mind and heart, knowing and loving, are woven together in a way that leads to his expression, “that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” I want to be filled with the fullness of God, and I want that for you!
Join us for a weekend in the book of Ephesians where together we will invite God to unite what we know with what we do. Let’s explore what it means to be “rooted…in love” at Winter Conference 24.

DESCRIPTION:
Winter Conference is a time of worship, study, training, and fun, all with Christ at the center. Students, staff, and alumni (and sometimes special guests) share teaching and leadership responsibilities. Byron Bible Camp has many great recreation opportunities (like black light dodgeball, 9 square in the air, game rooms, basketball, broomball, and more), but it's also a great place to just chill (or even do a little homework if you must).

*Our speaker for the weekend is Rev. Dr. Jeff Liou. He is the National Director of Theological Formation for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA. He received his Ph.D. in Theology and Culture at Fuller Theological Seminary and is ordained in the Christian Reformed Church of North America. Jeff has served as a campus minister, pastor, professor, and university chaplain. He lives in Southern California with his wife, Lisa, and their two children. |
